Down the Rabbit Hole
2023
AliceHacks
1st Place
Down the Rabbit Hole is one of the projects Im proudest of. It is a web-app designed to assist those conducting research in a field and attempting to self-educate themselves. Using GPT-4 API, the website leads users "Down the rabbit hole" of a chosen subject. Competing as a one-man team for the first time ever in a contest with over 200 participants from nations across the globe, I was unsure of my odds. Nevertheless, I kept up my effort, and to my pleasant surprise, won.
Escape (for IYTC)
2024
Ohlone College Hackathon
1st Place
Escape is an application designed to aid youth struggling with tobacco or nicotine addictions, developed for the International Youth Tobacco Commission (which had partnered with OhloneHacks). Working alone at this hackathon was again daunting, as it was one in which highschoolers and college students at Ohline college would compete against each other. To make up for my lack of manpower and unfamiliarity with mobile development, I focused on nothing but programming for 10 hours straight, and overcame my obstacles.
Cobalt
2024
LA Hacks
Best UX
Cobalt is a project management app tailored to small teams seeking rapid turnaround times and instant collaboration, primarily geared towards hackathon teams. Cobalt is one of the most refined websites I ever developed, with it being ready to enter production by the end of the hackathon. It featured collaborative, real-time syncing kanban boards, event planners, brainstorming sheets, and publicization generators. Developed with Svelte, SvelteKit, and Pocketbase in the span of 28 hours, and without a single minute of sleep, Cobalt was awarded best UX.
EchoEDU App
2024
EchoEDU
Commissioned
EchoEDU is a website that allows tutors (who are students) to better coordinate with their tutees to arrange in person sessions, outside of school-sanctioned "homework hours" once a week. EchoEDU was developed by myself and two friends, and was our first commission. It was my first experience developing something to completion, and the experience of ironing out bugs and continual testing served as a great lesson for me going forward.
Kronos
2023
CUHSD Hackathon
1st Place
Kronos is a website that syncs with the user's Canvas account, a platform used in most highschools and colleges for teachers to assign work to students. It uses the Canvas API, paired with homemade algorithms and AI to develop a timeblocked agenda/schedule for the user, in order to optimize personal productivity and efficiency. After placing 1st in the Campell Union High School District Hackathon, my team and I continued developing the product, but never fully launched it as we took on more engaging and complex tasks.
Wellness Wizard
2023
GitInit
3rd Place
Wellness Wizard is a website that tracks the user's face using an ml5 AI detection library, and uses the position of one's head in an upright position to determine when an individual is slouching. When the user begins slouching, desktop notifications and pings remind them to stand upright again. Simple as it may be, Wellness wizard was the first ever website I developed, placing 3rd in GitInit. Developed in NextJS with a team of equally fledgling developers, Wellness Wizard was my first step into WebDev
Mini Missions
2024
Blu's Hacks
2nd Place
Mini Missions is an website designed to assist individuals undergoing depressive episodes. Inspired by negative personal experiences throughout the team, we developed a website that would serve as a swiss-army-knife of getting back into their groove. The app prompts the user to complete small tasks, or "mini missions," that serve the purpose of promoting activity rather than inactivity. The app provides guided meditation sessions, offers "special missions" to enable journaling and heartrate tracking, and more. It proudly ended in 2nd place, at Blus Hacks, the successor to CUHSD hacks.
Realingo
2023
Hack The Classroom
Honorable Mention
Realingo is an application designed to facilitate realistic conversations in foreign languages for language-learners, allowing them to acquire proficiency through direct practice. Having learned that languages are acquired fastest by active engagement and conversation, I was inspired to make use of NLP LLM's, such as the GPT-4 API to allow users to converse in absolutely any language, without fearing embarassing themselves in front of another human. With aides such as hints, suggestions, conjugation tips, grammar lessons, and selective translations, Realingo effectively facilitates learning.
MindVault
2023
LA Hacks
Best UX
MindVault is a website designed to assist individuals afraid of forgetting. Whether it be a large event or a small occurance, individuals who want to memorialize their mind are able to submit memories and subjects into mini missions, which are then stored in a multidimensional vector database. When paired with an LLM search (GPT-4-API), users can recall their entire memories with sparse information, such as the time, location, or activity. The intuitive, easy-to-use design of the application earned it the Best UX award at LA Hacks 2023, which broke the record of the largest in person highschooler hackathon
